Gordon Birsch Brewery-Good Apps
It was a good night. Good clean wholesome fun. Good friends, good beer, good apps. We ordered garlic french fries, asian chicken wings, blackened ahi, and a kind of "artichoke/chicken chowder".. It was all scrumdidilie-umcious!But the tastiest morsels were not of food or drink and greasy fingers that needed licking and cleaning. The flavor was in the conversation of the night. We got to talking about what was on our mind. What was on most people's minds when they get together with friends in a 'safe zone'. The topics were career and relationships.
My friend S took up most of the conversation, with detailed accounts of the last few meetings with her ex-boy toy.. and of the last phone messages he had left her before jetting off to China for business. She obsesses over the man, about what he does, what she has heard since the break up, and that it is a bonafide the 'fact' that he does not want to give her a second chance because he has a false sense of reality. This was intriguing to the group because we asked ourselves "Does everyone deserve a second chance?" The answer, of course was yes. But then we pondered, what do you do if you are denied that chance? Are you to run up to the person face to face and demand it? Should you just swallow the pill and move on? Do you continue trying to communicate? and if so, for how long?
This is were I believe the obsession took hold of our beautiful blonde friend of 27 years. (con't)
